About us
St. Gallen Sailing is the first collegiate sailing club in St. Gallen. It was founded in January 2007 with the intention to offer students of the University of St. Gallen and young sailors from the region a platform for the organisation of joint sailing events.
The idea to form a student sailing team already arose in the summer of 2006. The team aimed to compete successfully in the 39th Course Croisière EDHEC in April 2007. Hence the first preparations started in the autumn of 2006 and a first training took place on Lake Constance.
During preparations for the competition, many students showed great interest in joint sailing events and the original team decided to found St. Gallen Sailing. Thereby they hoped to give rise to a wider range of sailing activities offered at the University of St. Gallen.
